Insulation removal is pest control!
Abolish Pest Control offers a wide variety of services including insulation removal and installation. We frequently do attic decontaminations that require insulation removal, decontamination, and insulation installation. Simply removing old or pest infested insulation greatly improves air quality, improves insulation, reduce electric bills from heating, and deters infestation. (Complete attic service warrantee keeps your attic pest free for years)
Why choose Abolish over other companies?
We are not your average pest control company. We have over 20 years of experience, certifications, and licenses to do what we do. What separates us from pest control companies and decontamination companies, whether it is attic or commercial decon., are our special divisions. We have experts in Bird Control, Animal Control, Insect Pest Control, Rodents, Attic Decontamination, and Commercial/Industrial Decontamination. That is why whatever we do, we have the experts and specialists to get the job done right. All day they deal within their expertise so that Abolish can continue to provide the best services.
We provide everything our Attic Decontamination Competitors provide but with more experience, safer efficient equipment and better rodent control techniques. The big difference from our competitors is we are licensed by California to spray chemicals to kill any and all parasites, insects, pathogens that our's and our competitor's fog machines will miss. Rodents and their feces provide a haven for fleas, spores, and parasites. After all you do not want to have a clean attic but suffer from bird mites or fleas. Once the rat host is eliminated, the parasites will search for a new house host--you.
What are the benefits of having Abolish remove your insulation?
- We use HEPA filters to prevent harmful particles from becoming airborne
- We are certified, licensed and insured for use of pesticide and other chemicals
- We are trained to spot any pest infestations or vulnerabilities to infestation
- We use special pest control insulation
Four points of benefit:
Prevent harmful contaminants from becoming airborne
We take many safety procedures including air quality. When insulation is removed small dust particles, spores, and other harmful airborne particles are spread throughout the air. Our steps take this into great consideration and only use US government certified HEPA vacuums. Most companies
use common household vacuums that blow harmful contaminants
and infectious diseases through out the air and your home. Be sure the company that decontaminates uses a
HEPA vacuum.
Certified, licensed and insured for use of pesticide and other chemicals
Another benefit of having Abolish remove your insulation is if it is infested with rodents or insects. We are certified by the state to use pesticides and other chemicals. The process of removing infested insulation may require chemicals to safely remove feces and eliminate odor. Pesticide can be used to eliminate any pests
Trained to spot any pest infestations or vulnerabilities to infestation
Most companies that offer insulation removal and installation are not a certified, licensed, and insured pest control company. The benefits from having Abolish remove your insulation are the forewarnings they may discover. If your attic is infested with an animal or rodent, simply removing the contaminated insulation will not deter their stay there. Abolish will be able to spot and eliminate entry points easily. It is recommended to have professionals inspect, proof, and decontaminate the attic rather than have conventional under-equipped companies perform these tasks.
Use pest control insulation
If you would like to further deter pest infestation in your attic, we use insulation that will prevent insect pests from nesting in your attic.

Attic Insulation Removal & Installation
Before we start
We take great precaution in keeping your
home clean by taping and covering exposed areas during our
attic insulation removal process. We must use the most accessible
and easiest way to quickly and safely remove insulation and
waste, at times it requires going through your home. Thus
we take extra steps in keeping your home clean.
Once the exposed areas have been sealed
and covered we begin the insulation
removal
Note -
Any waste left under the insulation is vacuumed
with a US government certified HEPA vacuum. Most companies
use common household vacuums that blows harmful contaminants
and infectious diseases through out the air and even through
your home. Be sure the company that decontaminates uses a
HEPA vacuum.
(from http://www.westernsafety.com)
- Conventional vacuums exhaust unseen lead particles back into the environment, compounding the existing hazard
- Minuteman's lead vacuum has been specifically designed for safe and efficient daily use in commercial and industrial sites
- With a H.E.P.A. vacuum, particulates are contained within a special filter, allowing NO hazardous dust to escape back into the air
- As an added precaution, a patented interlocking safety system prevents the vacuum from being operated without the H.E.P.A. filter
- Non-woven, embossed, polyester filter bag provides 50% more filtration area than standard bags. Filter is 99% efficient at 1 micron
- Equipped with H.E.P.A. filter which is 99.97% efficient at 0.3 microns
We also use a ULPA (Ultra low particulate air) filter to further contain harmful contaminants; 99.999% efficient at .12 microns. This filter is much more efficient than normal HEPA filters.
Pesticide, Bactericide, Sanitize, Disinfect
Before new insulation is installed, The area MUST be
treated with disinfectant and pesticide (if infested). When the animal or
rodent had taken abode in your attic, parasites had a home
on the rodent. Once the host is removed, parasites that are
not eliminated will search for a new host--The new host could
be a pet or you. Risk of disease should also be considered,
thus disinfecting the area is another routine in our complete
attic decontamination. We use multi-purpose sanitizing spray
to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold, mildew, etc..
Be sure the company you chooses sprays.
Decontaminating the area is essential to deter
possible future rodent occupants. Check the Photo
Gallery to see more examples of attic decontamination.
The longer animals have lived in your
attic, the more contaminated it is, but even short-term attic
use will leave behind odors and pheromones. We know that once
animals leave their scent behind it attracts new animals.
once the problem starts, it can easily become a consistent
problem. |

Lil Viking 97 HEPA BackPack Vacuum
We only use the best HEPA vacuums when dealing with infestations and other hazardous waste. The Lil Viking BackPack Decontaminator is one of the most powerful and efficient vacuums out there. vikingvacuums.com
- More cleaning power than upright vacuums
- More contaminates contained, captured and removed
- Captured contaminants will not escape from bag and leak back into your facility
- Better indoor air quality
- More maneuverability allows for efficient cleaning of hard to reach floor surfaces such as stairways
- Vacuum attachments reach into nooks and crannies and allow for high dusting applications such as cleaning ceiling vents
Prevention
Depending on the type of infestation, whether it be Rat or pigeon, we would highly recommend a pest control plan. The plan would either consist of proofing the area to prevent a future infestation and/or extermination of the pests. Without proper steps to deter the pests from returning, the pests would simply return creating the same mess.
Damage
In the long run, not decontaminating cleaning or proofing the problem area creates a hazard for employees and/or customers, equipment gets damaged from feces and dust as well. The cost of repairing equipment and possible medical bills is a fraction of the cost of our complete decontamination and Cleanup service. Common Attic inhabitants
The attic is a perfect home for rodents and insects. If rats and mice have a food source around or in your home, then your attic provides shelter from the environment. Parasites can thrive in rodent and animal infested areas unless properly treated. The most common attic inhabitants are rats, mice, raccoons, opossums, pigeons, bats, and squirrels |
Feces Clean-Up
Employees are trained, bonded and insured. Abolish Pest Control Company
will furnish all lighting, portable generator, tools, equipment, pressure
washer, pesticide, bactericide and disinfectant.
Equipment and Chemicals
Abolish Pest Control Company uses a powerful, wide spectrum multi-purpose
sanitizing spray to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold,
mildew, etc. The bactericide and disinfectant is applied directly
on bird droppings, nests etc, to neutralize any harmful germs and
enable safe removal of the waste materials. We use a HEPA vacuum
in certain areas that cannot be reached by regular means. By thoroughly
cleaning the structure, you can eliminate the scent of their presence
and help discourage their return. All feces will be double bagged
into 3 mil trash bags.
Disposing of waste
Any feces or material that might be contaminated should be removed from work area and should be disposed of or decontaminated properly and safely top avoid cross contamination or it could pose a health hazard. Before an activity is started, the quantity of material to be removed should be estimated. (If the approximate volume of dry bat or bird feces in a building can be estimated,) Requirements established by local and state authorities for the removal, transportation, and disposal of contaminated waste should be followed. Arrangements should be made with a landfill operator concerning the quantity of material to be disposed of, the dates when the material will be delivered, and the disposal location. If local or state landfill regulations define material contaminated as infectious waste, incineration or another decontamination method may also be required.
Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE)
Due to airborne work practices and dust control measures to reduce worker exposures to contaminates, have not been fully evaluated, using personal protective equipment (PPE) is still necessary during some activities. During removal of an accumulation of bat or bird feces from an enclosed area such as an attic, dust control measures should be used, but wearing a NIOSH-approved heap respirator, nitrile gloves and disposable coveralls are recommended to reduce further the risk of exposure. Reducing Histoplasmosis Contamination
The primary way to try to prevent histoplasmosis is to avoid places that may contain dirt contaminated with bird or bat droppings, such as in an attic or pigeon coop. Also, leave piles of bat or bird droppings alone unless you take precautions, such as wetting down the material with proper disinfectant, to prevent the contaminated dirt from becoming airborne. You should also wear PPE (Personal protective equipment) if working in a potential contaminated environment, which is known to contain bat or bird feces. To protect the employees of your work place, it is required
that employees keep clear of the work site during feces removal.
